Koivusaari is an island between Helsinki and Espoo in Finland. It is well known for its harbour and boat storage. The aim of our competition proposal was to create a coherent masterplan that mediates two sides of the area cut by the highway coming through. We linked the housing north-side with the commercial south-side by introducing common recreational area in the form of the lake underneath the heavy traffic.
